Ted Jeremenko came to America from Yugoslavia when he was 12 years old, growing up in Philadelphia. He is a completely self-taught artist, having little or no formal art training. Notwithstanding, he is today considered one of the masters of Americana in the art world. Ted’s frequent subject matter, including lighthouses, barns, cottages and village scenes, reflect a passion for simplistic, elegant architecture that derives its strength from the environment around it. Perhaps the most beautiful element in Ted’s work is his treatment of foliage, using a full range of hues and complimentary colors. |

Malva is a legendary name and an important personality in the American art scene. A deeply religious man and a painter from Syria, the country of light and color, he represents an attempt to create a “Gesamtkunstwerk,” the integration of intellectual, philosophical, aesthetic and social values in a sensual art form. Born as the first child of a poor shepherd’s family in Tel Naif, a small village of mud cottages, Malva has had a hard life. His natural skills as a painter were not supported by his family. He left his family at age 17 and received much acclaim for his work under his assumed name. But, for political purposes, he was not able to work. He was drafted in the Syrian military as a graphic artist for seven years. He ended up with a wife and family in Beirut, where he escaped with false passports. His wife then left him (with his children) never to be heard from again. A second wife and family allowed him to restart his life in Austria, where he lives today. Through it all, Malva’s creativity seems endless. His naturalistic style gives way to a new expressionism and returns to the colors and lights of his homeland. |

His work is inspired by the impressionists, especially the work of Alfred Sisley. He has a passion for all nature, especially wild flowers, set against the panorama of vast blue skies. Marchal’s work is held in private collections throughout Europe and the United States. |

A native of Idaho, Mary Maxam finds inspiration for her paintings in the beautiful scenery and gardens of the Northwest. She is a graduate of Boise State University and teaches art. In her own words… “My subject might be wildflowers, a garden, or a fly fisherman, but in looking closer, you’ll see that the subjects I paint are really light and color. Something draws my eye and initially, my work is abstract driven. I search for the visual spark that I’ll convey in the work. Then I look at the formal aspects of painting, composition, etc. And, finally, I move in closer, developing subject personality.” Maxam’s work is displayed throughout the United States. |

Ornaghi was born in the Lombard area of Italy in 1930. Orphaned at a very early age, he grew up in an artisans’ institute where he studied design. He later attended the Art Academy, under the direction of Italy’s well-known artist, “Parma.” Ornaghi enjoys the beauty that he says can only be found in nature. In fact, he spends much of his time in the open air with his portable palette and canvas. His palette is rich in shading, from the cold, slightly misty colors of dawn breaking, to the warm reddish tones of a summer sunset, the tender green of spring and the white winter of snow. The artist’s work is exhibited throughout Europe and the United States. |

Armando Romano |
|
|
Romano was born in Naples in 1953. After studying art in the local Academy, he started his career with art restoration and the reproduction of ancient paintings. From here he evolved to an intense study of landscapes, immersing himself in light effects and the variation of colors, according to the change of seasons. Romano does not give an interpretation of the landscape, he reproduces it scrupulously. The natural light is a prerogative in the artist’s work, which he captures with warm and sunny tonalities, which together with the strength and speed of his brush strokes, give his paintings spontaneity and clarity. Romano is present in several art publications and has exhibited in some of the most important galleries in Italy, the rest of Europe and the United States. |

During his early studies, he concentrated on the European School of traditional landscape painting and later developed a more individualistic style for his work. Scott’s lovely paintings express the infinitely various moods of nature. It is vital to him that his paintings capture not only the physical landscape, but also its atmospheric qualities. His New England landscapes are especially delicate and poetic. He often paints on location in the White Mountains, capturing the wildflowers, birch trees, villages and lakes that come into view on his canvases. Scott’s colorful autumn paintings are very much enjoyed and collected in the United States and Canada for their warmth and beauty. |
